The Classic Ferrari
Hi there, this is Ryo.
Today, my friend and I visited an acquaintance who lives in Onomichi city in Hiroshima.
Onomichi is far from my house, so it was a long drive of over 40km.
My friend's driving. His car is Mazda mx5 miata.
A little break.
After an hour and a half drive, we arrived at an acquaintance's garage.
I know that he own a Mazda's classic car, Cosmo Sport, because he has showed me before.
His Cosmo Sport and my mx5 miata.
But I didn't know which other car he has, and what is on the watch for us was...
Ferrari 308 GTS !!!!
I was very surprised when he opened his garage and this car appeared, bacause it is so rare in Japan.
Ferrari launched the 308 GTS in 1977. This car is a targa topped, V8 mid-engined, 2 seater sport car.
The 308 GTS was designed by Pininfarina, which is a famous Italian car design firm and coachbuilder.
As I said above, This car is so rare, so it still has over 90,000 dollars worth of value in Japan.
So, I rarely can see this car in my life.
The engine is 2.9L and produces 255 PS (188 kW) at 6600 rpm (7700 rpm redline).
It is not very outstanding specification now, because the latest engines have more power than this one. But, no one cares.
Owning a classic Ferrari is the very worth it.
I had an once-in-a-lifetime experience today.
Maybe it is so difficult to own a Ferrari for me, but I felt I have found one of a purpose to achieve.
